Andros Island, Bahamas
We will be fly fishing primarily for Bonefish, with the option to hunt Tarpon and stalk Permit (conditions permitting) on the western side of the island. The Bonefish here average between three to five pounds and you will have adequate opportunities to target fish in excess of 10 pounds! We will be on the water for 8+ hours of guided fishing per day, for six days. Our guides are friendly, extremely knowledgeable and highly skilled at polishing your casting technique and putting you on fish -- lots of them! The lodge is situated on beautiful beachfront property; so get ready to experience some spectacular sunrises and sunsets. We travel via 18’-20' skiffs designed to carry two fishermen plus your guide - they are the perfect way to experience this vast saltwater fishery, as we will periodically stop, disembark, and wade a hot saltwater flat. The option to spend a morning offshore at the local channel buoy for a shot at Mahi-mahi and other off-shore species on the fly is available at no additional cost. Bonefish, Tarpon and Permit are Catch and Release only. Mahi-mahi may be kept for the table, and served during your trip.
Food
All meals are included in this trip, beginning with dinner the day of arrival, and culminating with a hearty send-off breakfast the morning of departure. Breakfast and dinner are served family-style in the spacious dining room of the Main Lodge. Conch fritters, Johnny Cake bread, fresh lobster and an ice-cold Kalik beer are just some of the local delicacies you’ll be treated to. Joined by your guide, the Main Lodge deck is the perfect setting to recount the day's highlights and formulate tomorrow's plan of attack. Your packed lunch includes a deli-style sandwich with all the fixin's, an assortment of chips, baked goods, water and soft drinks. Beer and wine are available at the lodge for a nominal price.
Lodging
We have the entire lodge to ourselves for the whole week! There are four air-conditioned, waterfront cottages -- each comfortably sleeps two adults with plenty of storage for fishing gear and personal items -- with covered patios and two sitting chairs. Each cottage has its own private full bath with shower. Satellite TV is available in the Main Lodge.
Travel
Plan your flight to arrive Andros Town Airport (ASD) on Saturday or Tuesday. Schedule your departure flight from Andros Town Airport to leave on the following Saturday or Tuesday. Flights from the U.S. normally originate in Florida (Miami or Fort Lauderdale) and may require a connection through Nassau, Bahamas. Pick-up and transfer to/from Andros Town Airport is in a comfortable van or taxi. It's approximately a 30-minute drive each way. Contact us if you would like assistance with air transportation. Travel insurance is highly recommended.
Fishing Gear
You will need to arrive at the lodge with all of your fishing gear, including spare rods, reels/spools, flies, leaders and tippet. The ability to replace or borrow additional gear and terminal tackle once on the island is very limited. Contact us if you need help selecting gear. We recommend an 8wt saltwater fly rod with a large arbor reel for Bonefish. If you plan to pursue the saltwater Grand Slam, you should bring along an additional 9wt fly rod for Permit, and/or a 10-12wt fly rod for Tarpon. Plan to dress in lightweight, long-sleeve casting shirts and convertible (zip-off) pants -- these will provide valuable protection from both the sun and flies. Always have rain gear available. Some other items to consider packing: camera, polarized sunglasses, long-brimmed hat, binoculars, sun gloves, travel alarm, insect repellant and sunscreen/chapstick. Note: there is plenty of dry storage available on the skiffs.

Non-fishing Activities
The staff can help arrange a local SCUBA or snorkeling trip for non-fishing guests. The waterfront patios on each cottage are the perfect place to relax and read that book you’ve been dying to crack the cover on. Additionally, you will have daily front row seats to some spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
Cost
At $2,995, this 6-Day/7-Night trip is priced well below similar packages to other Andros Island lodges! Airfare from your home airport to/from Andros Island, Bahamas is not included in the price of your trip. Additionally, gratuities for your guide and local bar tab are not included in this cost. The staff strongly believes tips are not guaranteed or expected, but rather earned. Contact us for rates for non-fishing guests. A 50% deposit is required to reserve your trip.
